Nigerian Senate Holds Security Summit on North Central Killings

The Nigerian Senate, led by Senator Abba Moro, organized a security summit in Plateau State to tackle the rising insecurity in the North Central region. The summit aimed to address the wave of violence affecting communities in states like Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Kwara.

Senator Moro stressed the importance of a collective effort involving citizens, government institutions, and non-state actors to enhance national security. Key outcomes included the need for practical solutions drawn from the experiences of affected communities, traditional rulers, civil society groups, and conflict resolution experts.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang also highlighted the importance of improving local security networks and engaging the private sector in preventing security threats.
