Diaspora Groups Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Re-election Bid

Nigerian diaspora groups have rallied to endorse President Bola Tinubu for his re-election bid in 2027. The announcement was made on a Monday by Bidemi Akintund, the director of the Citi Boi Movement, during a strategic gathering aimed at mobilizing grassroots support.

The event highlighted the importance of youth inclusion and diaspora engagement in shaping Nigeria's democratic future. Akintund emphasized the need for unity among various support groups, regardless of their organizational affiliations, to focus on a common vision.

He noted the challenge of voter apathy, citing that millions of registered voters did not participate in the 2023 elections, with approximately 17 million Nigerians residing abroad. The movement aims to leverage the influence of the diaspora to ensure at least five million Nigerians abroad participate in the electoral process, translating to an additional five million votes for the 2027 elections.

Akintund reaffirmed the movement's commitment to supporting Tinubu's policies aimed at securing Nigeria's economy and empowering youth for long-term national development.
