Nigeria's Defence Minister Matawalle Visits Czech Republic

Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, undertook a three-day official working visit to the Czech Republic aimed at strengthening defence industrial cooperation. Accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), he attended the Czech Air Force Day/Air Show and Defence Exhibition in Ostrava.

During the exhibition, he engaged in a strategic bilateral meeting with the Czech Republic's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence. Discussions focused on enhancing the partnership between Nigeria and the Czech Republic, particularly in military hardware production and the establishment of an ammunition production line in Nigeria.

The topic of Transfer of Technology (ToT) for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and other military hardware was also a key point of discussion. The Czech Minister of Defence expressed readiness to collaborate with Nigeria to improve DICON's defence production capabilities.
