Discos Collect N196.13bn Revenue in March 2026

In March 2026, Nigerian electricity distribution companies (Discos) collected N196.13 billion from a total billed amount of N246.43 billion, resulting in a collection efficiency of 79.59%. This reflects a slight decline of 0.28% compared to February 2026.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) reported that approximately N50.3 billion of the billed revenue remained uncollected. Despite this, the total energy supply to Discos increased by 6.02%, amounting to N293.76 billion.

The overall industry-wide billing efficiency fell to 83.89%, a decline of 3.55 percentage points from the previous month. Individual Disco performances varied significantly; Ikeja Electric achieved the highest collection efficiency at 96.38%, while Kaduna Disco recorded the weakest at 38.54%.

The average tariff across the industry was N124.30 per kilowatt-hour, while the actual collection averaged N100.75 per kilowatt-hour, translating to a revenue recovery efficiency of 81.05%.
