NERC Reports ₦203.61bn Revenue for DisCos in April 2026

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) released its performance fact sheet for April 2026, indicating that electricity distribution companies (DisCos) received a total of ₦203.61 billion. This reflects an improvement in revenue collection efficiency, which rose to 80.66%, despite a slight decline in billing efficiency by 0.57 percentage points to 83.32%.

The total bill for customers was reported at ₦252.43 billion against ₦302.96 billion worth of energy received. The report highlighted that the revenue recovery efficiency improved by 1.06 percentage points compared to the previous month, indicating a positive trend in financial performance among Nigeria's DisCos.

Eko Electricity Distribution Company emerged as the top performer with a recovery efficiency of 102.09%, followed by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company at 89.77% and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company at 88.89%. Conversely, Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company recorded the lowest recovery efficiency at 43.15%.
