Akwa Ibom Doctors End Strike After Governor's Intervention

Doctors in Akwa Ibom State have resumed work after a strike, thanks to the intervention of Governor Pastor Umo Eno. The governor held a peace meeting involving representatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the management of the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH), and health unions, including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).

During the meeting, Governor Eno expressed his commitment to the welfare of residents and the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the state. He condemned the incidents that led to the industrial action and emphasized the need for dialogue to avoid hardship and loss of lives among innocent citizens seeking medical attention.

The governor's deputy, Akon Eyakenyi, commended the EFCC chairman for ordering an investigation into the incidents. The government remains committed to the welfare of its residents and will not stand by while people suffer.
