Doguwa, Ganduje Endorse Garo for Kano Deputy Governor

Alhassan Doguwa, a former House of Representatives leader, and Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have endorsed Murtala Garo for the deputy governor position in Kano State. Doguwa disclosed this support in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, following a strategic meeting of party leaders on Saturday night. Garo, a former commissioner for local government affairs, is reported to have received 90 percent support from attendees at the meeting. Doguwa urged the current governor, Abba Yusuf, to consider Garo, describing him as a loyal and experienced politician suitable for the role. This endorsement comes after the resignation of former deputy governor Abdussalam Gwarzo, which created a vacancy in the state's hierarchy. Although three names were presented, Garo's candidacy received near-unanimous backing from stakeholders, including former deputy governor Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo and other party chieftains. Stakeholders expressed optimism that Garo's emergence would strengthen party unity and stabilize the political landscape in Kano State.
