Kano Assembly to Screen Deputy Governor Nominee Monday

The Kano State House of Assembly has scheduled a screening for the deputy governor nominee, Murtala Sule Garo, on Monday. This announcement was made by Kamaludden Shawai, spokesperson for the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt.

The assembly received a correspondence from Governor Abba Yusuf regarding Garo's nomination, which is in accordance with Section 191 (3) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). The position of deputy governor became vacant following the voluntary resignation of the former deputy governor, Abdussalam Gwarzo, on March 27, 2026.

The official announcement confirmed that the assembly would conduct a proper screening and approval process for Garo's nomination, as stated in the correspondence issued by the governor's chief press secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.
