Groups Urge Caution in Investigating Governor Tambuwal

A coalition of groups in Sokoto, including the Concerned Citizens and the Sokoto Progress Vanguard, has urged anti-graft agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to exercise caution in their investigations of Governor Aminu Tambuwal. The groups expressed concern that the inquiries, which stem from a recent commission of inquiry against Tambuwal's administration, may be politically motivated.

In a statement made available to newsmen, the chairman of the group, Hon. Yusha U Musa Alkanc, called on the EFCC, ICPC, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to adhere to transparent legal procedures and not to be influenced by political pressures.

The statement also highlighted the need for a fair investigation, especially as the current administration under Governor Ahmad Aliyu has been accused of attempting to discredit Tambuwal's previous governance, which they described as having good stewardship.
