Drake's Ice Structure Stunt Promotes Upcoming Album Release

Canadian rapper Drake is engaging fans in a unique promotional campaign for his upcoming solo album, expected in 2026 via OVO Sound and Republic Records. On April 20, he announced the release date alongside a photo of a large ice structure erected in a parking lot near the Bond Hotel in downtown Toronto.

Fans gathered to break down the ice using various tools, including sledgehammers, pickaxes, and even flamethrowers, as temperatures rose to 50 degrees. This promotional stunt, referred to as "Drake's Iceman Structure," follows a previous event on April 12, where Drake was seen courtside at the Scotiabank Arena during the Toronto Raptors' season finale.

The event featured pyrotechnics that reportedly caused disturbances in the Downsview Park area, leading to public apologies. Drake's last album spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Canadian Album Chart, and this upcoming release will mark his first full-length solo album since 2023.
