Boko Haram militants intercepted trucks in Borno, killing 17 people and abducting drivers in an attack that occurred as the government planned to resettle internally displaced persons (IDPs). The incident, which took place in Guzamala and Abbari villages, led to the destruction of vehicles and the missing drivers.

The Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan, condemned the attack, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region. The militants targeted the convoy transporting maize and building materials, setting vehicles on fire.

The incident disrupted the government's efforts to resettle IDPs, with concerns raised about the security situation in the area. Additionally, recent attacks in Monguno and other areas have heightened fears among residents, hindering the return of IDPs to their homes.
