Drone and Rocket Attack Targets US Embassy in Baghdad

On Tuesday evening, a drone and rocket attack targeted the US embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. Witnesses reported hearing loud explosions, and security officials confirmed that the embassy's air defense system intercepted the projectiles, causing a fire on the embassy's ground balcony.

The attack was attributed to the Iranian-backed Kataeb Hezbollah group, which issued a statement demanding the departure of all foreign soldiers from Iraq, asserting that security cannot be achieved until the last foreign soldier leaves Iraqi territory. The group's new security chief, Abou Moujah Al Assaf, emphasized that everyone should enjoy security and that Iraq should not be a battleground for proxy wars between the United States and Iran.

This incident follows a series of attacks by pro-Iranian armed groups against US interests in Iraq, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.
