DSS and Army Foil Terrorist Attacks in Niger State

The Department of State Services (DSS), in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and Local Volunteer Forces, successfully foiled a coordinated attack on communities in Niger State. The operation targeted Bagna Erena in the Shiroro Local Government Area, where a credible security source indicated that approximately 300 armed bandits, equipped with dangerous weapons and advanced motorcycles, were planning a large-scale assault.

Acting on advanced intelligence, the joint security team, along with local vigilantes, laid an ambush for the bandits, resulting in a significant number of casualties among the attackers, while others fled towards Makuba and Allawa. Residents of Bagna Erena expressed gratitude for the swift response of the security forces, noting that the collaboration between security agencies and local volunteer groups has significantly improved security outcomes.

This operation highlights the importance of cooperation in bridging existing gaps and strengthening the first line of defense against insecurity in the region.
