Security Forces Ambush Bandits in Niger State Attack

On Tuesday, over 300 bandits launched a large-scale attack on the Bagna Erena community in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. In response, the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services (DSS) deployed troops to neutralize the threat.

According to security expert Zagazola Makama, the operation was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding the planned attack. Local volunteer forces assisted in the ambush, which resulted in the deaths of a significant number of bandits.

The attackers, armed with dangerous weapons and motorcycles, were met with fierce resistance from the security operatives and local vigilantes. Reports indicate that while many bandits were killed, others fled towards Makuba and Allawa.

This operation highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region and the efforts of security forces to combat banditry.
