DSS Arrests ESN Members Linked to Policemen Killings

The Department of State Services (DSS) arrested members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) on Friday, including Sebastin Odo and Ejik Daniel, in Eha Amufu, Umuhu, Isi Uzo Local Government Area, Enugu State. These individuals are implicated in a series of violent attacks, including the murder of five policemen and eleven farm workers.

The arrests were the result of sustained intelligence gathering over several months. The suspects confessed to being the masterminds behind a chain of attacks on police stations, with notable incidents occurring on February 26, 2024, when eleven laborers were killed, and on December 24, 2025, and January 26, 2026, when five policemen were killed.

This operation represents a significant success for the DSS in combating insecurity in the southeastern region of Nigeria. Residents of Isi Uzo expressed excitement over the arrests, hoping they will restore peace to the community.

The suspects are currently in DSS custody and await arraignment in court.
