DSS Arrests IPOB Members for Killing Policemen in Enugu

The Department of State Services (DSS) arrested members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who were implicated in the killings of five policemen and eleven farm workers in Enugu State. The arrests occurred on Friday, 6th October 2023, in Eha Amufu, Isi Uzo Local Government Area.

Among those arrested were Sabastin Odo and Ejik Daniel, the latter identified as the mastermind behind a series of violent attacks on police stations. These attacks included the killing of eleven laborers on February 26, 2024, and five policemen on December 24, 2025, and January 26, 2026.

The arrests were the result of months of sustained intelligence gathering and represent a major success for the DSS in its fight against insecurity in the Southeast region of Nigeria. Residents of Isi Uzo expressed excitement over the arrests, noting that they would help restore peace in the community.

The suspects are currently in DSS custody and await arraignment in court.
