Troops Arrest Two IPOB/ESN Suspects in Anambra Operation

On March 31, at approximately 1:00 PM, troops conducted an operation at a checkpoint in Ihiala, Anambra State, leading to the arrest of two suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN). The operation was supported by aerial surveillance and was based on intelligence reports.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were allegedly involved in providing medical assistance at a camp located in Umunz, Orumba South Local Government Area. During the operation, items recovered from the suspects included two mobile phones, a handbag containing drugs, jewelry, and a phone charger.

The operation highlights ongoing security efforts in the region amid concerns regarding the activities of IPOB and ESN.
