DSS DG Oluwatosin Ajayi Receives BON Media Award

Mr. Oluwatosin Ajayi, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), was honored with the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON) media award for his role in championing press freedom.

The award was presented during the Nigeria Broadcast Award night organized by BON on Wednesday night in Abuja. The event highlighted Ajayi's exemplary leadership and his commitment to fostering better relationships between the DSS and the media.

Alongside Ajayi, other notable recipients included Dr. Dauda Lawal, Governor of Zamfara State, and Senator Bassi Otu, Governor of Cross River State.

The Minister of Information, Alhaji Moham Idri, and former Executive Secretary of BON, Mr. Obadiah Tohomdet, were also recognized for their contributions to the media industry.

The award ceremony emphasized the importance of media in shaping societal narratives, both in Nigeria and globally. Ajayi's appointment as DSS DG was made in August 2024, and he has been actively working to improve interactions between security agencies and journalists.
