DSS DG Oluwatosin Ajayi Receives Media Freedom Award

Mr. Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), was honored at the Nigeria Broadcast Award night held on Wednesday in Abuja.

This award, presented by the Nigeria Broadcast Organisation (BON), recognizes Ajayi's exemplary leadership and commitment to press freedom. The event also acknowledged the contributions of other notable figures, including Dr.

Dauda Lawal, Governor of Zamfara State, and Senator Bassi Otu of Cross River State. Alhaji Moham Idri, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, and former BON Executive Secretary Mr.

Obadiah Tohomdet were also present. Ajayi's previous recognition by the International Press Institute (IPI) on December 2 for upholding press freedom and fostering better media relations was recalled.

The award was presented during the IPI annual conference in Abuja, emphasizing Ajayi's efforts to improve interactions between the security agency and the media since his appointment in August 2024.
