NSCIA Trusts DSS DG for Fair Investigation in Walida Case

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has expressed confidence in the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Oluwatosin Ajayi, to conduct a just and fair investigation into allegations surrounding the case of Walida Abdulhadi.

Walida, a young Muslim woman from Jigawa State, claims she was abducted and forcibly converted to Christianity by DSS officer Ifeanyi Onyewuenyi, leading to the birth of her child. NSCIA's Secretary General, Prof.

Ishaq Oloyed, emphasized Ajayi's professional integrity and commitment to a thorough investigation, dismissing any notions of religious bias. The council highlighted the sensitivity of the matter, referencing past cases where Muslim individuals faced unfair trials.

They urged restraint to avoid inflaming religious tensions. The NSCIA aims to ensure that the investigation is conducted based on facts and testimonies, maintaining a focus on justice and fairness in the resolution of the case.
