D'Tigress moves to top 10 in latest FIBA ranking

Nigeria's women's basketball team, D'Tigress, has moved up to the 8th position in the latest FIBA ranking, making them one of the top 10 teams in the world. This ranking comes after their recent victory at the 2025 Women's AfroBasket tournament, where they clinched their record seventh title by defeating Mali in the final.

This win also secured Nigeria's qualification for the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup. Great Britain dropped to 22nd place, while Belgium entered the top five after their victory at the EuroBasket Women.

South Sudan saw the biggest climb, jumping 31 spots to 55th place. The USA remains in the number one spot, with Russia, France, and China following closely behind.

Mali currently holds the 18th position in the world rankings after their impressive performance at the 2025 Women's AfroBasket.
