D’Tigress, Nigeria's women's national basketball team, faced their first defeat at the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, ending a six-game winning streak. The match against South Korea saw Nigeria initially take the lead in the first quarter, but they could not maintain their advantage.

Coach Rena Wakama's team struggled in the second half, particularly in the fourth quarter, where they were outscored 14-2, limiting their total to just nine points in that period. Victoria Macaulay led Nigeria's scoring with 22 points and six rebounds, while Ezinn Kalu recorded six assists and Murjanatu Musa contributed 10 points.

The loss marks Nigeria's first defeat against South Korea in three meetings. D’Tigress will aim to bounce back when they face the Philippines women's national basketball team in their next group match on Saturday.
