US Sets Visa Application Dates for DV-2027 Lottery

The U.S. Department of State confirmed that the visa application window for individuals selected in the 2027 Diversity Visa (DV) lottery will be open from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.

This announcement was made on the department's official travel website. Alongside this, the Department of State disclosed that modifications are being implemented regarding the entry and registration process for the DV-2027 lottery.

However, these changes will not impact the visa application timeline for those already selected. The department stated it would announce the start date for the DV-2027 registration period "as soon as practicable" and will also confirm when the selection results will be available through the Entry Status Check (ESC), the official online tool for participants to verify their selection status.

The adjustments under review are focused on the entry process and will not alter the conditions for selected winners, who will still be able to pursue their visa applications within the specified window.
