PDP Lawmaker Adepoju Criticizes APC on E-Transmission

During a Tuesday interview, Anthony Adepoju, a lawmaker representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North in the Oyo State House, criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its opposition to electronic transmission of election results. Adepoju, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, stated that the APC's actions are against the will of Nigerians and threaten the integrity of the democratic process.

He expressed concern over the recent motion in the National Assembly that sought to rescind the passage of the Electoral Act amendment bill, which would facilitate electronic transmission. Adepoju emphasized that the APC's stance is a significant setback for democracy, which has been hard-won since 1999.

He described the situation as a betrayal of public trust and a potential hindrance to free and fair elections in Nigeria, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
