Provost Agwu Ekw Regains Control at Ebonyi College

On Tuesday, Professor Agwu Ekw, the substantive provost of the Federal College of Agriculture in Ishiagu, Ebonyi State, resumed control of the college following a leadership crisis that began on Monday. The crisis was triggered by the emergence of two provosts, which led to a halt in both academic and non-academic activities due to non-compliance with college regulations regarding the appointment of a provost.

Tensions escalated as the Joint Union Action, led by Dr. Thankgod Nwaneri, attempted to address the situation.

However, on Tuesday, Professor Ekw took charge, entering the college's premises with the assistance of security agencies, including soldiers and police, after the entrance gate was forcibly opened. This action followed instructions from Dr.

Jonah Nwawuisi, who had previously directed staff to abandon the confusion surrounding the leadership issue. The presence of security personnel was significant as Professor Ekw addressed staff and students amidst the ongoing crisis.
