Ebonyi Governor Sacks Officials Over Community Killings, Vows to Restore Peace

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has taken decisive action by sacking traditional rulers and political appointees in response to community killings. The removal was prompted by a violent attack in Okporojo, Edda Local Government Area, where four individuals were reportedly beheaded.

Governor Nwifuru condemned the attack, emphasizing that lives lost should not be in vain. He urged residents to remain calm and embrace peace to prevent further escalation of the crisis.

The Governor's visit to the affected community served as a strong signal that lawlessness would no longer be tolerated in the state. Additionally, the Governor dissolved the Amasiri Town Development Union and its executive members, emphasizing the commitment to restoring permanent peace in the region.
