ECOWAS President Urges Renewed Regional Partnerships

During a high-level engagement in Abuja, General Diop, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, called for a renewed regional partnership among Ambassadors, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Development Partners, and representatives of International Organisations. He emphasized that this engagement provided a vital opportunity to reaffirm the significance of sustained international cooperation in advancing the Community’s regional integration agenda.

General Diop expressed profound appreciation to ECOWAS’ diplomatic and development partners for their longstanding support throughout the organization’s 50-year history. He noted that this partnership has significantly contributed to progress in various areas, including peace, security, democratic governance, regional integration, infrastructural development, humanitarian assistance, and institutional strengthening.
