ECOWAS Youths Sign Fish Production Deal in Anambra

In Awka, Anambra State, a significant agreement was signed between the Elit Cooperative Society Limited and Teemartin ICT Limited, facilitated by the Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency (FABDA). This agreement, part of the ECOWAS Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Initiative, aims to boost food security and youth employment through aquaculture.

Mr. Chukwuma Onyekw, President of Elit Cooperative Society Limited, and Mr.

Cosma Ezenwann, Managing Director of Teemartin ICT Limited, represented their respective organizations during the signing ceremony. The agreement focuses on transitioning small-scale fish farming into a commercial production system driven by precise aquaculture technology.

Mr. Emeka Iloghalu described the agreement as a major milestone, emphasizing the importance of equipping young people with practical business management skills in fish production.

The initiative plans to increase fish production to achieve local sufficiency and support long-term industrial demand.
