EDC and NYSC Launch Skill Acquisition Scheme for Youth

The Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) are set to implement a skill acquisition scheme for corps members, as announced during a recent visit by Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseyi Nafiu to EDC's headquarters in Lekki, Lagos. This initiative aims to create a digital platform that enables NYSC members to acquire essential entrepreneurship skills.

Brigadier General Nafiu emphasized the importance of this program in addressing Nigeria's high youth unemployment rate and the need for a collaborative effort to provide resources for skill acquisition. Dr. Olawal Anifowos, representing EDC, highlighted the significance of redefining the curriculum to include an entrepreneurial mindset, which is crucial for contributing to the nation's GDP.

The partnership, which has been ongoing for nearly a decade, aims to offer corps members access to resources that will enhance their entrepreneurial capabilities, ensuring they are well-prepared for the job market or for starting their own businesses.
