Edo Governor and Emir Urge Unity and Prayers for Nigeria

During the annual Eid al-Adha celebration held at the Government House in Benin City, Governor Edo State Mondai Okpebholo and Emir Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero urged Muslims to continue their prayers for peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria. Okpebholo reiterated his administration's commitment to fair and equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity, and acknowledged the vital role of qualified Muslims in governance.

He expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the Muslim community and emphasized the need for collective prayers to overcome the country's economic and security challenges. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was also mentioned, stressing the importance of unity among Nigerians.

Emir Bayero, in his message, called on wealthy Muslims to assist the less privileged during the Eid celebrations and urged Nigerian pilgrims to pray for Kano State and the nation. He expressed concerns about rising drug abuse and thuggery among youth in the state, advising citizens to elect leaders with integrity in the upcoming 2027 elections.
