Edo Government Acts to Secure Release of AAU Students After Ekpoma Protests

The Edo State Government is taking steps to ensure the release of Ambrose Alli University students who were arrested and detained following protests in Ekpoma. Governor Mondai Okpebholo has tasked the Commission of Education, Dr.

Paddi Iyamu, to oversee the release process. Dr.

Iyamu assured the public that necessary procedures will be followed for the genuine students' release. The protests led to concerns over frequent kidnappings in the area.

Osadebamwen Ehizoji, the President of the AAU Student Union Government, commended the government's intervention.
