Edo Governor Okpebholo Inherited N180bn Debt, Addresses Security and Healthcare Challenges

Edo State Governor Okpebholo disclosed inheriting N180 billion debt owed to local contractors from his predecessor Obaseki. He outlined challenges faced, including high debt levels and security concerns, such as cult-related killings and cybercrime.

The administration has initiated measures to improve security by recruiting and training security personnel and enhancing anti-cultism laws. Additionally, efforts are underway to strengthen the healthcare system through the construction of new healthcare facilities and hospitals.

Governor Okpebholo also mentioned infrastructure development projects, including road construction and healthcare center upgrades across the state.
