Edo PDP Faction Applauds Court's Nullification of Ibadan Convention

The Edo State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) faction, led by loyalists of the Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and South-South Vice Chairman Chief Dan Orbih, commended the court's decision to nullify the Ibadan convention. The faction's State Chairman, Nosakhare Ogieva Okunbor, highlighted the ruling as a new beginning for unity and progress within the party.

The judgment was seen as reinforcing the principles of due process and unity within the PDP. The court's ruling dealt a significant blow to the faction that organized the convention, despite ongoing leadership disputes within the party.

The nullification came just ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 national convention of the PDP, which was scheduled to take place in Ibadan. The decision has sparked renewed calls for party members to support the affirmed leadership under Alhaji Abdulrahman Moham and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, aiming to strengthen the party's internal democracy and restore confidence among members.
