Edo PDP Lauds Court Ruling on November Convention Validity

The Edo State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed approval of a ruling by the Oyo State High Court, which validated the party's national convention set for November 15-16, 2025. The judgment, delivered by Justice Ladiran Akintola, granted 13 reliefs sought by PDP members, including the declaration that the convention is legally valid.

The PDP, represented by spokesperson Dan Osa Ogbegi, stated that the ruling underscores the party's commitment to democracy and the will of its members, which cannot be undermined by external conspiracies or intimidation. The court's decision mandates the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold the convention's outcomes until a higher court rules otherwise.

Ogbegi noted that the judgment serves as a rebuke to any attempts to destabilize the PDP and reinforces the party's democratic principles, asserting that it will not tolerate indiscipline among its members.
