Edo Security Squad Mandates CCTV Installation by July 30

The Edo State Security Squad, represented by spokesperson Noah Idemudia, has directed all business owners across Edo State to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras on their premises by July 30. This initiative aims to strengthen security and tackle crime effectively.

Idemudia emphasized that CCTV cameras would improve the ability of security agencies to investigate crimes, identify suspects, and obtain evidence for prosecution. He urged the business community to comply for the safety of everyone.

Additionally, Idemudia warned against the planned "7-7" celebrations allegedly organized by cult groups, stating that security agencies are prepared to arrest and prosecute anyone involved. He disclosed that two suspects from Auchi and Uromi had already been arrested for cultism and illegal possession of firearms, and they will be arraigned in a mobile court established by the Edo State government to expedite prosecution of individuals accused of cultism and kidnapping-related offenses.
