Edo Tourism Agency Targets Refuse Dumping in Moats

The Edo State Tourism Agency, represented by Mr. Vivian, is taking a strong stance against refuse dumping in moats, which are vital to the state's historical and cultural heritage.

During a press conference in Benin City, Mr. Vivian warned that stiff penalties would be imposed on anyone found dumping waste in these areas.

The agency has initiated a public enlightenment program to educate the community on the importance of preserving these sites, which are crucial for tourism. Mr.

Vivian noted that Edo State boasts numerous tourist attractions, with 72 sites across the state, yet many remain underutilized despite their potential for economic growth. The agency plans to leverage tourism as a tool for job creation and to boost the state's internally generated revenue.

Additionally, Mr. Kush Ojekhoa announced an upcoming tourism summit scheduled for June 29-30, 2026, which will feature a fashion show to promote Edo's rich cultural heritage and reward creative talents.
