Edo State to Boost Tourism and Hospitality Sector

Edo State is set to create jobs and promote the hospitality sector through tourism by leveraging its 72 tourism assets. Mr.

Vivian, the Director General of the Edo State Tourism Agency, announced plans during a press conference in Benin ahead of the first Edotour Summit, scheduled for June 29-30. The summit will feature a fashion show aimed at showcasing the state's rich cultural heritage.

Governor Mondai Okpebholo expressed readiness to explore these tourism assets to boost the hospitality business and create employment opportunities. The agency is committed to educating the public on the importance of preserving tourist sites, warning residents against dumping waste in these areas, which could lead to stiff penalties.

The upcoming summit will also reward participants in the fashion show with cash prizes to encourage creativity and support emerging talent, as stated by Kush Ojekhoa, the Director of Administration.
