Edo State Warns Contractors on Quality Standards Compliance

The Edo State Government, led by Governor Godwin Obaseki, has issued a stern warning to contractors handling projects across the state to comply with approved quality control standards. Failure to meet these standards will result in mandatory reconstruction at the contractor's expense.

This directive was communicated by Patrick Ebojel, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, during a site inspection of two major road projects in the Edo South Senatorial District. The administration operates a zero-tolerance policy for substandard work, emphasizing that all projects must meet the approved specifications to be accepted by the government.

A comprehensive monitoring exercise has been launched across Edo North, Edo Central, and Edo South to enforce uniform compliance among contractors. Ebojel highlighted that any contractor delivering substandard work will be required to fund the reconstruction entirely.

The initiative aims to ensure that public funds are judiciously used and that infrastructure projects deliver long-term value to Edo residents.
