Trial of Former Power Minister Mamman Stalls Over Witnesses

The trial of former Power Minister Mamman, facing charges from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) related to a ₦33.8 billion money laundering case, has encountered delays. The proceedings, presided over by Justice James Omotosho at the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, were scheduled to continue on February 23, 2026.

However, the defense counsel informed the court that they were unable to produce witnesses due to unavailability, prompting a request for additional time to enable the subpoena of witnesses. Consequently, Justice Omotosho adjourned the matter until February 26, 2026.

Mamman is facing 12 counts of conspiracy to commit money laundering, with the total amount involved being ₦33,804,830,503.73 (thirty-three billion eight hundred four million eight hundred thirty thousand five hundred three naira seventy-three kobo).
