EFCC Charges FCDA Staff with Property Fraud in Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned two staff members of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Folashad Oketop and Moham Kabir Usman, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja. They faced three counts of conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and corruption related to the illegal sale of four staff houses located at numbers 3, 4, 7, and 8 in Abuja.

The EFCC accused them of misappropriating and unlawfully selling these properties to private individuals, which contravenes Section 311 of the Penal Code Act, punishable under Section 312 of the same Act. Additionally, they were charged with corruptly receiving sums of N5 million and N4 million in relation to the sale.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty, and the court set bail at N10 million with conditions. The trial is scheduled to commence on October 21, 2026.
