EFCC Arraigns Suspected Crypto Fraudster Linked to FBI Case

The EFCC has arraigned Godslove Munachiso Obiwuru in Enugu for money laundering, linked to an FBI case. Obiwuru was charged at the Federal High Court in Enugu for retaining Ethereum worth 50 in a Binance wallet, allegedly proceeds of unlawful activities.

Following a guilty plea, the EFCC requested a trial date while Obiwuru was remanded in custody. The suspect was arrested on August 5, 2025, based on an FBI petition regarding his involvement in a cryptocurrency account takeover scheme.

The defense counsel sought a bail application, leading to an adjournment of the case for further proceedings.
