EFCC Arrests Abuja Agent for N288m Property Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Hajia Adama Ahm Adamu, an Abuja-based housing agent, over allegations of property fraud amounting to N288 million. The arrest followed a formal complaint filed by Alhaji Tanko Yawal, who accused Adamu of collecting a substantial sum under the pretext of facilitating the purchase of a property located at 31 Hail Selassi Street, Asokoro, Abuja.

According to the EFCC's Ilorin Zonal Director, the investigation revealed that Adamu failed to provide valid ownership documents for the property, which raised concerns about the legitimacy of the transaction. As a result of her inability to furnish the necessary documentation, suspicions were aroused, prompting the formal complaint to the EFCC and leading to her arrest in connection with the alleged fraud.
