EFCC Declares Ex-Governor Timipre Sylva Wanted for Alleged Corruption

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Timipre Sylva, a former Governor of Bayelsa State and ex-Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, wanted for his alleged involvement in a case of conspiracy and dishonest conversion of over ₦14 billion. The funds in question were reportedly injected into the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for the construction of the Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited.

Sylva had previously denied rumors against Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, labeling them as politically motivated. However, he confirmed a raid on his residence by military personnel but did not disclose the motive behind the action.
