EFCC Charges Ex-Minister Ngige with Contract Fraud Involving Millions

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought eight charges against ex-minister Chris Ngige for alleged contract fraud. Ngige is accused of abusing his office to award contracts to companies associated with individuals like Ezebinwa Amarachukwu and Uzoma Igbonwa.

The charges involve contracts worth millions of dollars from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF). Ngige is set to be arraigned in court on December 12, 2025, with prominent lawyer Sylvanus Tahir representing him.

The alleged fraudulent activities spanned from September 2015 to May 2023, implicating several companies linked to Ngige's associates.
