EFCC Receives Petition to Arrest Blessing CEO for Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officially received a petition on April 8, 2026, to arrest Blessing Okoro Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO. The petition was filed by the law firm S.M.

Anyanwu & Co. on behalf of Deborah Mbara, a cancer survivor. Mbara accuses Blessing CEO of exploiting her health crisis to orchestrate a multi-million naira fundraising scam, defrauding Nigerians of N300 million.

The allegations include altering Mbara's genuine medical reports to falsely claim she was battling stage 4 cancer, which was used to solicit donations. The petition details how Blessing CEO allegedly used falsified medical data to solicit funds into a private account, with none of the donations remitted to the patient.

The controversy began in January when Blessing CEO announced her diagnosis of breast cancer and shared a medical report claiming stage 4 cancer, which was later refuted by the diagnostic center. The family demands her immediate arrest and prosecution for exploiting a life-threatening illness.
