Blessing CEO Remanded in EFCC Custody Over N36m Fraud

Blessing CEO was arraigned in court on two counts of obtaining N36 million under false pretenses, involving a fraudulent transaction related to the lease of a six-bedroom detached duplex located at No. 1B Tunbosun Osobu Street, off Kuboy Road, Lekki, Lagos. The defense counsel, P.

Nwafor, informed the court that N24 million had already been refunded as part of efforts to settle the matter. Nwafor requested a short adjournment to allow the parties to resolve the outstanding balance.

However, prosecuting counsel S. Suleiman opposed the request, insisting that the federal government remains the complainant in the matter.

Justice D. Dipeolu ruled that the discussion between the defense and the complainant would continue independently without affecting the criminal proceedings.

Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the court ordered her remand in EFCC custody pending the hearing of her bail application. The trial is scheduled to commence on June 5, 2026.
