EFCC Quizzes Ex-Sokoto Gov, Tambuwal, over Alleged N189bn Fraud

Former Governor of Sokoto State and current Senator, Aminu Tambuwal, was recently questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud amounting to N189 billion during his tenure as governor. Tambuwal confirmed the interrogation, stating that the total cash withdrawals during his time as governor were in line with the amount mentioned.

He spent the night at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja and is being asked to account for the funds. If found guilty, the former presidential aspirant for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election may face prosecution for fraud.

Tambuwal's interrogation is part of the EFCC's ongoing efforts to combat corruption in Nigeria.
