Tambuwal reveals what he told EFCC officials during interrogation

Former Governor of Sokoto State and current Senator, Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, revealed details of his recent interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Tambuwal described the encounter as an attempt by the agency to intimidate him politically.

He willingly visited the EFCC on August 6 and was allowed to return home, only to be asked to report back for further questioning on August 10 and 11. Despite pleas from his legal team, including three Senior Advocates of Nigeria, the EFCC refused to relax his bail conditions, resulting in him being detained overnight and released the next morning after meeting the bail requirements.

Tambuwal questioned the timing of the EFCC's actions, suggesting it was part of a larger political plot to discredit him and silence his critical voice against the federal government. He reiterated his commitment to his political coalition and criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing any suggestions of switching political allegiances.
