Egypt Celebrates National Day, Strengthens Ties with Nigeria

On July 23, Egypt celebrated its National Day, commemorating the 1952 revolution that reshaped its political history and established its sovereignty. During the event in Abuja, Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mohamed Fouad, emphasized Egypt's commitment to future development and sustainable progress.

He noted the ongoing vision to drive investments in infrastructure, economic reform, education, healthcare, and digital transformation, which are expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and reduce unemployment. Ambassador Fouad mentioned a significant investment of half a trillion US dollars in infrastructure projects.

He also highlighted the upcoming inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum beside the Pyramids of Giza in November 2025, which aims to provide unparalleled access to Egypt's ancient treasures. The year marks a special milestone, as it celebrates 65 years of formal diplomatic ties between Egypt and Nigeria, established shortly after Nigeria's independence in 1960.

Ambassador Fouad expressed gratitude for Nigeria's partnership and the warmth of its people.
