Egypt to Host Russia in Friendly Match Before World Cup

Egypt is set to host Russia in a friendly match on May 28, 2026, as part of the preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. The match will take place at the New Administrative Capital Stadium, with arrangements concluded by the Football Federation.

This encounter marks the first meeting between Egypt and Russia since their match during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where Russia secured a 3-1 victory over the Pharaohs. Additionally, Russia has scheduled two more friendly matches against Burkina Faso on June 5 and Trinidad and Tobago on June 9.

Egypt is also expected to continue its preparations with a major friendly against Brazil, which will be played in the United States.
